Our goal is to work with the community and animal rescue groups to provide a no-kill, temporary sanctuary for pets in need of a home. In this effort, we will provide a safe, clean and caring facility to effectively enable rescued pets to find a family. In addition, The Pet Rescue Center will allocate financial grants, as they are available, to assist families undergoing financial hardship to provide lifesaving treatments for their pet.

Previously the options available to dogs, cats and their guardians who find themselves in a transition situation was to utilize the city provided shelter (which may have a NO KILL facility, or may not), or to seek out an independently run rescue group that will foster the animal until a new family is found. Both of these services are needed but sometimes inefficient. We need a combination of the two and more...

The Pet Rescue Center is a recently formed non-profit group that works in cooperation with local rescue groups of Orange County (and its surrounding counties) to place dogs and cats that have been saved from imminent death at shelters. We will also accept dogs and cats whose current families are unable to care for them and wish for a better situation for their pet.

The Pet Rescue Center will also have a grant-giving arm that will work with O.C. veterinarians to save pets with a treatable condition, but the owners don't have the finances to afford the lifesaving care. We hope to donate up to a $4000 limit, on a case by case basis, to the required veterinary care.
