Meet CHAYA - Thanks to all who helping us give LIFE to this sweet, starved and negected wanderer. As of May 15th, 2011 she went home to join a happy, loving family.

5/15/2011 - Chaya goes home with her new family!

3/18/11 - This sweet girl needs a home! She is such a lover, how can you refuse those eyes?

3/2/2011 - Chaya is now 64.6 lbs! That is a total weight gain of 24.6lbs in 5 weeks.

2/19/2011 - Chaya is doing amazing.  She is a wonderful super sweet girl who is VERY affectionate with the staff.  She is 4 weeks into her recovery with us and she weighs 62 lbs!!!!!  She is doing spectacular.  You can see in these pictures she still has a little way to go on her weight gain.  You can still see ribs and spine in her side view.  Which is mind boggling to me since she is 25 lbs heavier than 4 weeks ago.  Her skin problems, severe allergies and scabies, continue to improve.  She is about 60% improved.  Her hair is recovering and she is really doing well.  To all of you that were instrumental in getting her to us, thank you!

1/26/11 - She has gained 3.5 lbs since Saturday!  Other good news, Chaya is NOT diabetic per her blood test results.
She is anemic, but it is resolving.  Her Albumin level is low as a result of her being starved.

She is eating, wagging her tail, giving kisses, and is comfortable. She is being treated with antibiotics for her ear infections and her skin infection. She is bright and alert! Wonderful volunteers are going to be dropping homemade food off to supplement her diet.

Found on Jan 19, 2011 in Carson, CA - This sweet happy 5 yr old female was found wandering with a skeletal body at 40lbs. from a life of starvation and neglect.  She was said to be considered unadoptable and would have been scheduled to be put down after her review on Jan 25, 2011.
